Why we started Fond

Pet owners don't just love their animals. They love them in a way that's hard to put into words — a way that means they'll show you 47 photos of the same dog on a Tuesday afternoon, and mean it every time.

We started Fond because we couldn't find a portrait service that took that seriously. Most options were either generic photo-on-a-product with no artistry, or hand-commissioned portraits that cost hundreds of dollars and took months. Neither felt right.

Fond is built on a different idea: that a fine art portrait of your pet should be accessible, fast, and feel like it was made specifically for you. Not a template. Not a filter. A real portrait, of your actual animal, that you'll keep for years.

What makes Fond different

When you order from Fond, your photo goes through our art-style transformation process — watercolour, oil-style, or sketch — applied specifically to your image. You see a live preview before committing. Our team reviews every order before printing. If anything looks like it might affect quality, we reach out before a single print is made.

The memorial line

Some of our orders are placed by people who have just lost their pet. We take those orders differently. Every memorial portrait receives extra attention — in how it's made, in how it's packaged, and in how it arrives. If you're ordering in memory of a pet you've lost, add a note at checkout. We'll make sure it's handled with the care it deserves.
